The idea for this comic strip was produced freely. It depicts a piece of a larger story in which a group of heroes go to stop the nefarious General BadGuy. This page was developed to display the artist’s ability with panel layout, framing, color, and shading.
The page started out with a concept from a script that the artist had written previously. Soon after, research was done on dynamic, high-action poses that the characters could take. Once the poses were decided and a loose arrangement had been created, sketching began.
Lines and color of characters had been predetermined, except for the woman in the armor. The armor was a new costume and had to be developed. Once design and color had been decided on, however, it was just another part of the process.
