Robert A. Yankoski has had a passion for creating for twenty-six years. In 1992, for example, he created himself with help from his parents. Since then, he’s been a whirlwind of stories and ideas. Beginning in seventh grade, he began to draw those stories. These comics, featuring badly drawn stick figures and plenty of puns, sparked in him a fire for art that has only grown hotter at the same rate that he has. And trust me, he’s gotten pretty hot.
In 2014, he discovered new kindling for this flame. He began his graphic design career that year at Thomas Nelson and fell madly in love. He graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Arts in Spring 2016.
Robert finds inspiration in cartoons and musicals, and ultimately plans to become a story artist at an animation studio. However, no matter what happens, he will continue to tell stories for his entire life. Perhaps then he will achieve his true, final goal of immortality, and take over the world with his newfound power over death.
Robert began his graphic design career in fall 2014. Previously, he’d gotten a variety of his core classes taken care of. By taking four graphic design classes, he found something new that he enjoyed doing and learning about. That semester, he took:
Robert was again a full-time student during the Spring and Fall semesters of 2015.
During the spring, he took two academic classes and two art studio classes.
In the fall semester, he took all art studio classes again.
During the summer, Robert held a job as a graphic designer/photographer at Kaman’s Art Shoppes in Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Robert graduated with an AAS in Computer Arts in Spring 2016. He was a full-time student in that semester as well.
After graduating, Robert returned to Kaman’s Art Shoppes. Over the summer, he took Video Techniques II and interned with Soluble Systems.
In Summer of 2017, Robert took Advanced Digital Video. He also interned with the NASA DEVELOP Program. He graduated with a Career Studies Certificate in Digital Video.
